As I mentioned in Glimmer the First, a glimmer is the opposite of a trigger, which induces fear, panic and depression. Like triggers, glimmers also induce a response in the nervous system, but instead of bringing on fear and panic, they bring on feelings of safety, security, and comfort.
And I have another one to share, which is specific to the Canadian Mother's Day.
When I videocall my mother, the screen goes black while the tone pulses, trying over and over to get through. Then the screen suddenly turns into a kaleidescope of shades of blue and green, and I know we've made the connection. It's a jolt, because I never know exactly when it will happen, and it starts a warm glow in my heart because I know I will soon hear that sweet familiar voice.
A perfect, precious glimmer. Always.
